The Women's VIF Cycling Team has only been operating for its first season, but it is already achieving success on the domestic scene and some of the best cyclists in the Czech Republic are competing for it.

Over three thousand amateur cyclists in Prague and the surrounding area experienced the Tour de France atmosphere at L'Etape Czech Republic. The fastest in the main categories of the 139-kilometer hilly stage with an elevation gain of almost two thousand meters were Kristýna Zemanová from Vif Cycling Team and Jan Brňák from Lawi Stars Giant.
The winner of the longest route among women was Kristýna Zemanová: “It was my first time and I really liked it. We enjoyed the views around Křivoklát, but I was already suffering a bit in the hills. The atmosphere was great. When people scream and want to slap each other, it gets you excited.”

Now this brand, which is backed by Czech entrepreneur Jakub Lorenc (in the opening photo), is to be seen even more. Lorenc created the first professional women's cycling team in the country, the VIF Cycling Team, with which he has great ambitions not only at home but also abroad.

Although she won bronze at the European Championships, she wanted to end her career. Štěpánka Dubcová did not plan to enter this season at all. Her thoughts were directed towards her studies. The 18-year-old junior representative signed a contract with the new VIF Cycling team. "I dream of success in big cycling," says the competitor, who entered the 2025 season with twelfth place at the classics in Umag and was the best Czech competitor.
The newly created first Czech professional women's cycling team, VIF Cycling, is entering the season with ambitions to establish itself on the domestic and foreign markets. Behind its creation are Jakub Lorenc, owner of the company VIF, which sells sports glasses, and the chairman of the Pardubice Cycling Club Josef Říha. Former national team member Tomáš Konečný, who was the national road cycling coach from 2014 to 2022, has become the sports director and coach. "We want to fight for the top positions in Czech road cycling and time trial," he said right at the beginning of our interview.
Last year, Štěpánka Dubcová (18) shone as a junior at the European Championships in Belgium, winning an unexpected bronze in the road race. Despite this, she considered ending her career unexpectedly after the season due to her studies. She eventually changed her mind and experienced a significant career shift when she signed a contract with the newly formed women's team VIF Cycling, where she will compete with the women's elite.
The VIF cycling team burst onto the domestic cycling scene with great enthusiasm, so it was clear that I would definitely interview the team owner, Jakub Lorence.
She has made a somewhat sensational transfer in Czech terms. Kristýna Zemanová, the best Czech cyclo-cross rider of the moment and a two-time world championship medalist, has been a member of the VIF Cycling women's team since January. Even in the autumn, she didn't even want to hear about changing her jersey. "The time has come to try something new," says the 21-year-old Czech representative.
In the first of two Croatian classics, Štěpánka Dubcová from the VIF Cycling team performed best among the Czech cyclists. The 18-year-old cyclist took eleventh place in the mass sprint from Umag, narrowly missing out on her first UCI points of the season for tenth place.
Yesterday, in the pleasant surroundings of the Domestique Bistro, a press conference of the newly formed women's professional team VIF cycling took place, also in the presence of Czech Television cameras. The event, brilliantly moderated by Tomáš Jílek, had a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

With ambitions to break through on the international cycling scene, the newly formed women's professional cycling team VIF Cycling is entering its first season.
Four years were enough for the Czech sports eyewear brand VIF to reach a turnover of over 110 million crowns. Founder Jakub Lorenc hit a gap in the market and, thanks to smart marketing and effective distribution, managed to succeed in the sports eyewear category.
With big ambitions, including competing in the Tour de France, the newly formed women's cycling team VIF Cycling is entering its first season. The selection of sports directors Tomáš Konečný and Vojtěch Řepy wants to establish itself on the domestic scene and abroad.

The premiere will start at the international competitions UMAG Classic Ladies (March 5) and POREČ Classic Ladies (March 9).
Four-time Czech cyclocross champion Kristýna Zemanová, who won the silver medal at the 2024 U23 Cyclocross World Championships and bronze at the 2023 U23 Cyclocross World and European Championships, is transferring to the VIF Cycling Team.
